When we started immersing ourselves in the study of seed funding practices and community issues, we were passionate about targeting a wide-variety of environmental and social justice issues. However, through our research and assessment a light went off, food was at the cornerstone of most community needs and a stepping stone to many health, culture and decolonization issues. So, we started to immerse myself in the food sovereignty movement and successful programs, like the First Nation models (highlighted below)
